GROWING A MISSION

Billy Shough was the first individual MORGAN SHEPHERD felt compelled to help. He worked at the PARC Workshop in Stuart, Virginia—a nonprofit dedicated to helping adults with disabilities gain job and life skills.  After visiting the PARC in 1986, Morgan felt called to do more.

The following year, he returned with gifts. The year after that, the effort expanded into neighboring Galax, Virginia. What started as helping one individual grew into a broader mission to support entire communities.

Morgan and his Charity volunteers have provided essential resources—groceries, heating fuel, and utility support—to families in need.  While hundreds of people benefit from these outreach trips, the heart of the mission remains focused on the individuals at PARC Workshop. “Most of our support goes there,” Morgan says. “They truly need our help.”
